What are East London Baby Co.'s necklaces made from?

East London Baby Co.'s necklaces are made from food-grade silicone - the same materials used in silicone baking moulds and most bottle teats and teething toys. It meets all current safety standards and is totally safe for baby to chew. It's a material that doesn't allow bacteria to grow and it's easy to wash in the sink, under the shower or on the top shelf of a dishwasher. The cord is satin nylon which is very strong and the clasp is made from plastic.

Are they safe for baby to chew?

Of course! Always supervise your baby with the beads as they are not a toy, and never allow baby to chew on the cord or the clasp. The silicone is totally safe, odourless, non-toxic and doesn't allow bacteria to grow. Have a read of our safety information to make sure you know how to use your necklace.
